Crossroads

I'm at a crossroads in my life.
One path leads straight off a cliff.
the other path leads me back home.
I wonder if I could fly...should I try?
I have wings although I fear using them.
Home is safe, it's what I know, & I'm protected.
How long will that last? I know not to much longer.
I can feel the winds change with the season.
Do I try on my own? Test my beautiful wings?

untitled

My world crumbles before me
i go to pick up the pieces they too fall
my life at my feet...still nothing tangible.
where did i go wrong? what did i do?
to much faith where there should be none
did i learn and at what cost?

The Rings

Christopher is going to get my mothers wedding set. My brother isn’t interested. So that would leave my boys. My mom would like them to be passed on in the family. They are the only grandsons.
Lauren she will get the ring Brian ""proposed" to me with. It is over 2 karats. The center Ruby is a little over 1 kt marquis cut. The diamonds surrounding are round.
Kathryn gets my opal. I love this ring. It was our 5 yr. anniversary gift. I know that she will love it as I have.
John gets my wedding set. The center is a .7 kt marquis cut blue diamond. The surrounding diamonds are 4 round and 4 baguettes. We had it appraised a few yrs back. It’s worth $6,500 and insured.
Talking to the kids the other day made me think about the meaning behind them. What they symbolize.
History of Egyptian wedding ring. As chance has it, the oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago.
In early Egypt, the ring was linked with the supernatural, a never-ending band linked with eternal love. For the Romans later, the ring’s acceptance by a young lady was a binding, legal agreement and the girl was no longer free. Today we accept the ring as part of a religious ceremony when we marry in church.
Modern wedding traditions. As time passes traditions change and, today, it is not only the brides who wear rings as a symbol of their lasting affection, but the majority of men also choose to wear this badge of fidelity and commitment.
The ring’s band does not have to be gold. In early Roman times they used iron, for its symbolic strength. But that has been replaced in the third century with silver and gold because of its beauty while iron rusts. There are attractive alternatives for yellow gold, such as Silver or Electrum. You can also think about the hardness of the metal and the color of your wedding band.
But why the third finger of the left hand?
There are many theories as to why this particular finger came to symbolize marriage. Both the ancient Romans and Egyptians believed that a vein - called the vena amoris in Latin - ran directly from that finger to the heart.
In medieval England, a bridegroom would slide the ring part way up his bride’s thumb, index and middle finger, saying "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost" as he passed each one. He then put the ring on the next available finger - the third finger of the left hand. This practice was finally formalized in the 1500’s when Henry VIII’s son authored The Book of Common Prayer, which gives English modern Protestant wedding vows and decrees on which finger our wedding rings should go.

My Munchkin

Kathryn auditioned for Muskegon Civic Theatre's version of "Wizard of Oz" on Feb. 24th. There were 80 kids for 17 parts. She just got the callback. She got a role as a Munchkin. YEAH

Tickets are now on sale.
Wizard of Oz : the show runs May1-4
Thursday - Saturday at 7:30 PM
Sunday at 3PM

http://www.muskegoncivictheatre.org/tickets.htm

Kathryn didn’t get a speaking role. This is her first musical and she’s so excited. She also didn’t get a flying monkey. They found out for insurance purposes they had to cast people 18 and older for the parts :( I hope that some if not all of you will make it. Please give us a call or email letting us know if you can. As I think we will be making a couple shows if not all.

Next Tuesday

I guess it is time for an update. Sa of late I haven't been well. I went to my Dr. she sent me to the ob/gyn office. BTW the only Drr in the office I used to go to is Barkett. So now I see Lawerence. She's in his office. Not sure I like her. Back on track. They wanted to do another Laparoscopy. Though first they want to rule out colon problems. So they sent me to a gastro guy.

I saw the gastro Dr. yesterday. He doesn't think I have any problems. He thinks its endometriosis related. As did my general practiner. Because I haven't been regular I need to have a Colonoscopy. So next tuesday I'll be at Hackley fo awhile. It is out patient.

If they don't find anything I go back to ob/gyn. They will need a ultrasound. Nothing there than another Lap. I hope is they will finally do the FULL hysterectomy. I'm tired of being sore all the time.

I have missed a couple of classes due to pain. I talked to the school I will be joining the other massage class. This class goes on weds. from 1-4pm. than they're practicum is 6-9pm. So I won't have to be in muskegon 3 days a week for school just 2. I won't lose my scholarship either. Another bonus is they are a few weeks behind my class. So I have a couple weeks off.

Brian is doing well. He's writing again. I am so lucky he has been amazing through all this. He's been supportive and taking on a lot of my stuff to help me out. I thank god for him. He's truely amazing.

Christmas, Anniversary, Midterm, & Bdays

Christmas was small but a great one. Any time you can be with those you love the most you are blessed. Granted some days I don't feel so blessed. I know that I am and I am grateful for everyday with them.

Rob came home on the 28th. It felt like old times. We missed him so much. Brian just lit up. The kids couldn't get enough of him either. Rob misses home. He is doing well and looks good. While he was home our household had a MacGyver marathon. He went home on the 6th of January so he missed me and Johns BDay.

Well for those who have been asking for an update here goes. Brian and I had a great 13th Anniversary. It doesn't seem like we have been married that long. It's been 15 1/2 together. He is the love of my life.

John turned 9. Can you believe that? My baby is 9. It's not my turning a year older that's hard it is that John does. I was a bit upset at first but 32 hasn't been bad.

I am now in the second half of my classes. I took my midterm. I am happy to say I did well. On the written part of the exam I got 3 wrong out of I think 75. The table part of the exam I was a bit nervous but still did well. I still have the highest grade in my class.

Midterm on the 18th

Well I'm a bit nervous. My midterm is Dec. 18Th. I am doing well in the class. The instructor said I currently have a 96%. It's the highest grade in the class. There are only 6 students in my class excluding the 7 new ones. The senior group are all in the 90% bracket.

I'm pretty confident on the table. Just nervous about the written part of the exam. I'm hoping that I don't choke. For the next week and a half I've got to review. So if you think about it pray that I do well. Thanks

New Classmates

Funny thing happened in class the other day. The new students started in class. They introduced themselves. The senior students (my class) worked on them for over two hours. Lucky them right?

At the end of class I walked over to a group of the the fresh meat. (LOL) I told them if they needed a study buddy I am available. Than one girl asked me how Sonya and Andy were. I told her. Than she asked how Mary and Andy were. So I asked her how she knew my family. "You don't recognise me?" I said no. She than asked if I remembered a cousin named Cindy. OMG I hadn't seen Cindy in like 14 yrs.

It was nice to see her after all these years.

Clinic

Well I had my first clinic today. I pulled an all day. 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm, and 6pm- 9pm. Unfortunately I only had one client. She was a nice lady. She wanted a relaxation massage. It was her very first massage. J came all the way from Allendale. She paid for 1/2 hour session. The clocks weren't working in the clinic. She got a 50 minute session.

The unusual part of the session was she was releasing gas. I understand that's not unheard of. She was relaxed. The funny part was when it was time to roll onto her back. That was I could work on her neck. She let the nastiest rip roaring one. I tried so hard not to laugh. I didn't laugh thank goodness. She got so embarrassed. I told her it was normal and it has happened before. I lied. She said it was a great session and she'll be back and recommend me to others. YEAH!!

We are in the Omni fitness club. The clinic is open from 9am- 9pm. A half hour session is only $12.00 because it's students. There are CMT's and higher level therapists on hand though. If you get the time stop in it's a good price.

First test

We had our first test on Tuesday. I'm pleased to say I scored 100%. I'm also a member of both the AMMA and MMA. I also have malpractice insurance. It makes it feels so official. So I think I'm not doing to badly. Weds. we learned some actual techniques. I'm pleased about that. Unfortunately my partner (the only guy in class) worked on me. He left bruises. Brian isn't happy about it. I hope that next time he won't. Brian said if he did he wants to talk to him.

Classes

I did get my scholarship. All I had to cover were my books and misc. objects. I started classes Sept. 25th. There are only 6 people in my class. I love the class size.We found out the first day the school is moving. The 3rd week of class will start at the new location. They are leasing space from the Omni Fitness Club.

I have to go. I have my first test tomorrow. I should do pretty well. I remember the bones from high school. A few muscles I didn't know in the shoulder. We are going over the body in sections. First two weeks are the shoulder.
